100g Cake 2023 pressed Fuding Shoumei White Tea

$15.00
Sold Out

Use “teacups only!” Shipping for this item. If you order 5 or more cakes I will refund the shipping cost to you, and as always any order over $100 comes with free shipping.

Each cake contains 100 grams of high quality white tea grown in Fuding China. It’s processed more carefully than most shoumei teas you may have had in the past. It’s laid out in thin layers to dry instead of heaped which keeps the color bright and green and the flavor profile reflects that. The tea is young and bold and vegetal. I enjoy this tea best brewed with a good amount of tea in the pot and longer steeps. The Shoumei you’re used to is likely brown Shoumei which is piled and dried intentionally to simulate age and so this tea will need some time to taste like the Shoumei you’re used to but when it does get there it’ll be some of the best Shoumei you’ve had. If you want to try other years of this same tea you can find it at One River Tea, who generously sourced and pressed this tea for me. If you want to learn more about this tea episode 2-6 of the Tea Soup Padcast, hosted by Derek of One River Tea, is all about Shoumei and this tea features prominently. Listening to the podacst is what inspired me to reach out to Derek about this tea. I couldn’t be happier to share it with you.
